After failing to be able to drill and tap my son's threads on the head for the alternator, here is what I came up with. Cost - Free!

Bracket held by nearby hole in head, alternator bolt screws into bracket with bolt going into head enough to keep the bracket from rotating.

Well that's one way. Most of us would just use a heli-coil.

I tried drilling it out, with it in the car, even with the radiator out, I felt like I was drilling into hardened steel. I sharpened my bits with a drill doctor and they just wouldn't drill.

Hence, I did it a different way.

Odd. I drilled one out with ease. Cast is usually pretty easy to drill IMO. Nevertheless your fix worked and that's all that matters
