headlight floor bright light switch turning lights off

Hello everyone,

Im having problems with the headlight floor switch.

Headlights work but when you press the floor switch they go off.

Its a 70 dart rallye dash. Any help would be great.

Get a new floor switch.

The foot activated dimmer switch is most likely your weak link. I've had the plug in terminals come loose on me before and cause that and I've had a bad dimmer switch do it too.

I've also replaced two headlamps with burnt out hi-beams .. lol

Dimmer or lamps..

It's just a single pole, double throw switch. You should be able to test it for continuity with an ohmmeter. You could have a bad switch (likely) or headlamp issues (less likely).

Thanks guys. New switch on the way. For 10 buck why not replace it.
