Does the headliner need to be installed first before the front and rear glass so that the end material can be pulled taught or can I just fold and tuck inside gasket?

Check this link out. I did my Scamp with the front out, as I was replacing the windshield, and back in. Wish I could have removed the back too but there was no need. It makes it way easier to get a good tight stretch. But lots of guys told me I could do it with both in.

I always take the glass out, it helps to prevent wrinkles due to sagging from not being able to fasten the headliner properly. As the car goes through temperature changes this will occur.

These umbrella type headliners are difficult to install with the glasses removed.
I've seen fancy little surgical tools that make it a little easier to do with the glasses in place. I don't know where the guy got those tools. He might have had them made ( altered to suit his needs ).

Red - I think you meant with the glass (not) removed?

It is much easier to set the material on the front and rear teeth, get proper stretch and cut excess material with the glass removed from the car.

Ok my apologies....I broke the biggest rule of all....what year and model. I have a 73 dart sport. It is not the bow style.
