I'm redoing a 65 Cuda and need to know what procedure for doors /interior, does the headliner go before roof rails or the other way. Any advice would be helpful. I'm getting the headliner replaced and discovered that the front and rear glass needs to come out first, so I don't want to make any more costly mistakes. I made the mistake of glueing the carpet over rear wheel wells before putting metal trim pieces in cargo area and discovered they go under carpet and under glass gasket, so when glass is out for headliner I can peel carpet back a little screw trim in and reglue carpet. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I would go to the Search Forums section and type in Barracuda Headliner, Headliner Tips, Headliner Installation where you should find many of your questions answered. I put the roof rails on after the headliner install came back from the shop, didn't do the headliner myself. One thing I had to do was go back and find the screw holes for the courtesy lights, coat hanger hooks, sun visors and mirror that were covered and not marked.

The answers you seek will be found in the factory service manual. MyMopar dot com has a downlaod of the 1965 Plymouth service manual for free. Service Manuals – MyMopar

When I can't remember how things go together I look in the factory service manual. If the manual is not clear about some thing I do a google search. If those don't yield the results I am looking for I search on a specific blog site, like this one. If the blog site doesn't yield an answer I look at youtube. If I have to do a job with out much internet help I take notes then post them where appropriate. The internet is forever changing I have save some information only to go back some time later and what I am looking for has been removed. My advice is to print and save in a folder that you can put your hands onto. Lately I have been using note books to document info. AI answers is not the solution.

I replaced the headliner in my 65 Barracuda many years ago and I did not have to remove front or rear glass. I did it myself. What you speak of is some kind of myth IMO.

I just installed a new headliner in my '65 Barracuda without removing the glass. I used a plastic trim tool and tucked it into the rubber glass seal. There are metal prongs that the headliner hooks to, the trim tool I used had a slight bend at the end so I was able to push the headliner in and push up and pull back until I heard the prongs puncture the headliner. The shop manual also gives instructions on doing it this way. If you are doing a show quality car, I would recommend having a professional shop do it. It is very difficult to stretch the lining and have it come out with no wrinkles, especially if doing it yourself. Mine did not come out perfect but since it is going to be a driver, I will live with it.
