I've got a 65 Dart, 2dr. post. The headliner was removed, but I have 6 bows for it. I dont' know which goes where. oh well.

I also have a 64 Valiant post car. Great! The headliner isn't great...so I can cut some holes and peak at the color codes, right? WRONG. Now that I look closely, the 64 valiant has 5 bows, not 6.

I would have thought they both would have the same number. Should the 65 Dart have 5? and I have 1 "extra"???

Any insight would be helpfull. If you have a 65 Dart...how many bows? do you know the colors for proper placements?

thanks

I don't have a '63-6 Valiant here at the moment to look at but the Darts have 6 bows and the Barracudas have 5. Generally, if there is a slot in the roof for a bow, one belongs there. A trial fitting of the bows will tell you where they fit. When you get them in place, number them so you can get them in the proper order when you slide them into the new headliner.

over a BBD, a guy just did a 270 65 dart sedan. 5 bows. wtf? the 64 valiant I have has 5 bows. like I said, I've got no headliiner now, and 6 bows in the trunk!

Another issue is some headliner suppliers call out the 64-66 hardtops ONLY. others say 2/4 door sedan ONLY, others say it doesn't matter, they are all the same. again WTF?

WTF (win the future! -- obama's new catch phrase!)

I don't know for sure, but there may be differences in the C-pillars between coups and sedans. Take a look through the members photo gallery and try to spot differences in the roof lines and pillar areas. That could be where the hardtop and sedans differ. Just a guess though. There will be little metal "cups" that the bows fit into. It should become obvious how many you need, and how they fit will dictate where they go. Trial and error!!
