Headliner questions for a 72 Scamp

Trying to get a headliner in my sons '72 Scamp.The car didn't come wit headliner bows , so, we found someone local that had a set from a '70 Dart and, figuring that the roof is the same, bought them. Well they don't fit the holes where they should go. We took a look at my '68 Dart and that car has clips that the bows sit in . The Scamp has no slots cut for the clips to sit in. Instead, it has 3 holes in each spot that a bow should be.My question is, do these cars take different bows or are there different style clips that the bows sit in. We have look around for bows and clips and it seems that when they list these parts, they claim they fit Dart and Scamp '67- 72, which is wrong. Has anybody dealt with this issue before to help us out. Also , is there a separate sail panel that goes under the headliner ,or does the fabric just cover the metal on the pillars? Thanks for any help you can give us.I've posted a rew pics to show where we are talking about. The first 3 pics are of the Scamp.The rest are the '68 Dart.

My 72 swinger had a cardboard headliner. Just saying.

My Dad has a 72 Scamp (his first car!) and his has a cardboard liner as well.

I’m pretty sure you can buy plastic replacement liners for under $200. I think they come white so you can dye or paint them any color you like.

Any idea who sells them? I was just on the Legendary site and they don't list one.

The other idea that we had was to cut slots like my Dart has and use the clips for the bows , being that we already have the cloth headliner.

Just got a plastic uncovered headliner from Rock Auto for my 73 Sport. Shipping was about $35.00. It arrived today in a rectangular box and had instructions to unbox and lay out right away. I guess so it wouldn't take a set.

Rockauto is where I got mine, just be sure you get the right one, I accidentally purchased the one for a dart sport! Regular darts and Scamps dont use the headliner with the slits in the corners!
Also I bought mine covered and they have a huge selection of colors now.
