Just refinished the heater box and picked up a kit from Detroit Muscle. I got a roll of grey caulking in a long strand. Where does this go and also when I put the two half's together, is there anything that seals them .... can't see it being the caulking ...any help is appreciated

On my 70 Dart, the caulk strip is what seals the two halves together. Once the are apart and cleaned, it had a small grove the strip pressed in to.

Ya, work that grey caulk in you hands to warm it and make it a long skinny snake like you used to do with clay as a kid. Then press it on the edge of one side of the box. Put the two halves together and the clips will squeeze the excess out and you can scrape that off with your fingernail or a screwdriver.
