Hi all,

I have a 1972 plymouth scamp and reacently bought a heater box from someone here.

What year box did I get?
Will this work on my car?
Is there a difference between a box with and without AC?

The numbers on the box are

3503789
05407
2

thanks

The blower motor mounting plate to the box has three bolts. Just in case that makes a difference.

Mine is a 67 and I have both boxes, the a/c box blower motor will fit through a large hole in firewall the non a/c box has 4 studs which bolt through and into the fire wall.
Yours looks like a non a/c heater box with an a/c blower motor? maybe the later year boxes are different? sorry not much help.

i dont like the sounds of that scenario Rocky. Anybody else know about this heater set up? So would the AC heater box have only three studs connected to the box bolting in from the inside out?

what does your current car have in it? is it just a large round hole (about 6" dia) in the firewall or a center hole (3")with 4 small holes surrounding it?

Pics of my restored non-ac heater box. At the bottom is an AC box - for 1970-?

A/C and non A/C heater boxes are totally different. Non A/C flaps are cable operated and A/C flaps are vacuum controlled. The mounting and firewall holes for the tubes are in a different spot also.

thanks guys.

Does anyone have an AC box they wanna get rid of or trade for a non-AC box?

Good info on ac boxes, dad and I are just about to start redoing his ac for his 67 cuda. I was just looking at all the pieces in the basement and IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE FUN!!

Dads has a broken hole in the bottom of the large round part, which I believe is passenger side....anyone know any fixes??
