My dart sport has always had an aftermarket 3 guage cluster mounted under the top lip of the dash, right in front of the heater controls.

Looks like one of the previous owners took a chisel and busted out a good size chunk in the center of the heater controls to run the wires and tubes for the guages. :banghead:

My question is does the whole dash have to be removed to replace the heater controls, or can I remove the heater bezel/trim and be able to get to it? And if I can, how is the trim held on?

Thanks,
-Russell

The plastic trim has hpllow plastic studs cast on the back that go through holes in the sheet metal dash. Nuts on the back that cut their own threads. Seems there is always at least 1 that is stripped and doesn't want to back off. Come back to those after the others are removed and pull out on the bezel a little. The heater controls are mounted with 2 bolts in the front and a support limb on a back corner. Tgat limb is attached to one of the dash speaker studs. I dont remmber if removing the glove box liner was required. A factory service manual would help.
