Son and I just bought truck with a leanburn system that's shot hoping to go hei. Looking for pointers on this
Hei conversion 225 6 cylinder, im new here got a 83 d150 with partial lean burn system hoping to get advice on doing hei setup.

I wish I could help you more, I do not have documentation on the trucks. I believe there is a writeup over at slant6.org about this as applied to passenger cars Basically you are going to need a non lean burn Mopar distributor, or some other distributor of your choice like MSD. I believe there is a relay that originally selects which pickup is connected at which times, by the lean burn. You'll have to reconnect the pickup direct to the new box, whichever you use.
Part of the dilemma might be how the truck is wired. Older Mopars had a contact on the ignition switch for coil ballast bypass but some of the newer stuff had a separate contact on the start relay. Look at your start relay. Doe sit have 4 total terminals or 5?
