I have a 1967 dodge dart that started as a slant 6 car but was converted to a v8 360 with schumacker mounts, headers and other misc items. Someone converted the it to electronic ignition at some point. The bulk head wires outside of the firewall melted. inside is fine. I purchased a kwik wire harness but I am trying to find out somewhere what all the wires go to and their colors. I have a chilton manual and also a hayes manual both have the same wireing diagrams but the wrong wire colors but of course it says 1966 to 1975. I have also purchased an MSD al ignition box and new distributor. Want I want to do is figure out what wires go where on the bulk head so I can power up the factory fuse panel to test things, and also so I dont have to rewire the whole car at once with this harness as it has not ran since 05 and just want to make sure its good before. Thank you in advance

Welcome to FABO. What you really need to answer your questions is a Factory Service Manual (FSM) for your car. A lot of these are available on line (I'm sure someone will post the link). There is a full set of wiring diagrams with codes for wire colors and sizes. IMHO, I'd send the Kwik wire harness back and buy an engine forward wiring harness made by M&H and sold through Year One and Summit. These are year and model specific wiring harnesses that are the exact same as the factory harness - every wire, every plug. You just slowly remove the old harness and plug in the new, one connection by connection at a time.

Whatever you do, pull all the connectors out of the inside bulkhead connector and clean them and then pack both sides of the connectors with dielectric grease before you reconnect them and fry more wires !!!

Have to agree on the OEM style harness vs one size fits none style.

The FSM and a LOT of other info is available free at mymopar.com. the site went through some ,"updates" and now some links don't work.

Also for about 20.00 classic car wiring sells 11x17 colored wiring diagrams and they are super helpful. I to have a 67 dart and so far the wiring diagram I have had been spot on.
Just a sample.

Since your car started as a /6 watch the bulkhead connections. It would not make much sense for the factory to change bulkhead connector locations 6 vs 8 but you never know

And welcome!

This car already has me frustrated with all the weird stuff going on. I was ready to put a SBC in it but was told the mopar guys would beat me up most likely but only takes one wire to make it run.

The SBC would NOT be an easy swap, so get that idea out of your head.
Your frustration is coming from trying to patch in a (not-so) universal harness into a car it wasn't specifically designed for, without any proper service manual, and then trying to add an aftermarket ignition into a system that's already compromised... a recipe for frustration.
Mopars are actually quite easy, so quit making this hard on yourself.
As stated, get the factory service manual, either as a download from mymopar.com, or a disc or paper copy online. It is the best (and first) investment you should make with ANY car.
Also as stated, get the right harness right off the bat. A few more dollars, but the time, grief and sanity saved is worth every penny. No trying to cobble stuff together, all fresh connectors and joints. Heck, they even sell them updated for the factory electronic ignition and voltage regulator. Unplug the old one, clean the terminals, and plug the new one in. Done- no guesswork, very little swearing. You should be able to do it in less time than it takes to drink a six pack and still have three beers left. My 9 YO granddaughter helped me put in the last one.
Go for it and don't look back.

Yep. Post 2 & 5.
1967 Dodge Chassis Manual has the best diagrams available.
Depending on the exact windshield wiper motor you have, that harness may not be in the '67 Manual.
We have a couple threads here discussing the 3 or 4 permutations of the '67 wiper motors and wiring. Here's one Wiper Motor Wires

A repro engine harness will be your best bet, least frustration. M&H from Year One is pretty good.

There is are two other books available which may be of some help. These are the 1967-69 A-body Assembly Drawings.
They show a lot of details including routing and attachment points. All of which are important for long term survival.
However you can get a lot of that info here by searching (and asking ) for photos showing original routing.
example wiring assembly drawing in this post: Resto manual
and dash side in this one
Dash wiring pics please .....So I can see how the factory harness is routed properly. Mine is going
