Build date difference between my car and it's transmission.
This is my 1968 Barracuda

My car was build on Sep 26 1967 (926)
Transmission says it's build date is July 19 1967 (2182)

These just seam too far apart but Transmission does have the vin stamped in it. Since this is a early build car is it possible to have a transmission that far back in the calendar?

Sure enough. From a few weeks to a few months or longer between the sub assembly and car assembly dates.

They didnt stamp vin partials in the components or the body shell until 1969. Starting in 1969 that was done for theft recovery purposes. Before that, all you have was a sequence number on the body shell that did not match a vin. The trans and engine build dates being prior to to the car build date are pretty normal. Cant imagine as a 67 it's got the body vin stamped on it.
