roll it on the other side and find this machined ID pad.

I'll bet it's an OD trans. Is the case aluminum?

To bad my friend that looked at a valiant in the boneyard when we were there and told me it didn't have anything worth grabbing had paid attention to the clutch pedals and the rest of the 4 speed stuff. DOH!!!

It is aluminum and I shifter it into 4th and hand spun. FOR SURE od.
