Help! Stuck oil pump shaft

-
Okay, I know this thread is older than my car but I've got a similar problem. I want to prime the oil pump on my 360 that hasn't run since re-build but I can't get the oil pump drive shaft out. The engine has been sitting for 7-8 years but it turns around nicely.

When I try to turn the shaft with a screwdriver, it moves just a tiny bit (clearance in gear drive?) but it really doesn't take a lot of effort to turn it. There is some friction but not really serious.

When I try to pull it out, it moves maybe 1/4" and that's when I pull as hard as I can.

How do I get it out?

Thanks,

/Anders

Original bushings were Aluminum, replacements are sintered oilite bronze.
