I was tightening the valve cover studs and thought I could get a little more and the drivers side front bottom stud snapped. Can I drive like this? Major problem? Fix asap?

Put a nut over the broken and MIG weld the stud to the nut. Then back it out.

VC stud? Usually find bolts holding down VC. IMO, if I had to run w/o a bolt, I'd prefer to have the middle one on the bottom.

Can you drive like this? I don't recommend it. VCs are a typical source of leaks. If oil drips on hot exhausts, there will be smoke at best, fire at worst.

Can I drive like this? Fire in a car is a major problem. You decide.

Fix asap? If the car is driven often, yes.

I don't quite get "valve cover studs" unless you have something other than OEM hardware. I don't know why some much tightening there either.
I would bet that once the valve cover is out of the way the remnants of a bolt could be backed out with a dental pick. May be a little solvent spray needed.

If there is any stud exposed at all, a mototool and cutting wheel make a good slot for a small screwdriver.
