My buddies newly acquired 67 barracuda came into my shop with some strange combination of parts. Looking for all your wealth of expertise to assist in identifying these wheels and rear for me. I am also trying to identify what this rear came out of. The drums are a little different than I am use to seeing on an A Body.

First, the wheels are 17x8 with a 4.5 inch back space. The lug holes are large. I am thinking late model Jeep. The rear wheels needed the spacer pictured so they will not rub the springs.

Second, the 8.75, 4.5 bolt pattern, rear drums are 10x 2.5 with a 3.5 inch back space from the axle flange to the back of the shoes. Flange to flange is about 51 inches. Seems strange to have this combination on a 67.

Any input is welcomed.

thanks

My friend wants to get the car on the road from his purchase. I will attach some pictures later, it needs some love from being neglected and under the wrong mechanic hands. From back to front, Leaky axle seal, rusty brake lines, mismatched headers, calipers installed on wrong sides with bleaders facing down. aftermarket disk brake conversion cant fit disk brake covers. I dont even know yet if they greased or adjusted the bearing correctly. loose strut rods. the power brake booster actually was attached to the PCV. spaghetti for wiring electronic ignition conversion. that's only the beginning without installing a battery. updates soon. @MoparLeo thanks for the chart link. I will look also more closely for manufacturer stamps.

Is the 51 inches, backing plate flange to flange, or wheel mount to wheel mount?
Edit: sounds like a narrowed b-body housing, with very wrong wheels on it, to me.

Here is some more info for you all. Looks like 56 inches from axle flanges. Springs have not been moved nor does it look like the perches were moved. I know you like photos. Myself included. The body is surprisingly great condition for a Minnesota car in Florida. It must have led a sheltered life. There are some usual spots that appear to have been repaired. But not bad.

modes anyone have any budget recommendations for exhaust from headers back?

thank you

Both summit and jegs have house brand header-back systems for 67up a-bodies in 2.5 and 3. I haven't tried either personally, but that's the way I would go. Available with or without mufflers.
They have gone up a bunch in price in the last year or so. (What hasnt?)

@33IMP thanks for the recommendation , I have looked at those for years and wondered if I spent too much on my TTI system. I found only one review that mentioned a 67 Dart was a good fit. So it may not be a bad choice.

I run those on my dart in 2.5. Easy fit. Get good mufflers and a x pipe and you have one hell of a decent system. Dump the cheap clamps. I bought band clamps so eveything is easy to adjust or take apart in the future, all I use now.

My question is, "Who created the rats nest wiring?". That would be the first thing I would address.
