Can anyone help with the installation and adjustment of the cable from the dash AC temperature control lever to the blend door lever on the AC/heater box? It's a 1971 Swinger with factory AC. The factory service manual is not making any sense to me - put the water control valve in the full heat position? I thought the water control valve was in the engine compartment. Second question is the "self adjusting clip". Is this a special fastener different from the normal control cable retaining clips?

I recently put a factory ac from a 1971 dart in my 1969 cuda. I couldn’t really make much sense out of the instructions so I just adjusted the cables & linkage to where the doors had full travel both ways. It is a lot easier to do with the heater / ac boxes on the bench. I didn’t notice any self adjuster feature on mine. There is the temperature control switch to watch for on the adjustments too.

I hooked the vacuum line up to my vacuum pump so I didn’t need the car running for adjustments.
