Hi guys, my brake switch recently went, ordered a new one and spent too long trying to get the old switch off, real pain in the ***. Anyway, anyone got any pictures videos or a guide on how to install the new switch. The type i have is a standard SLS147 Switch

Thanks
Chris

So did you remove one screw and drop the bracket and switch or did you remove the switch from its bracket ? That little screw is a bugger to get at. It is where the OEM type switch position is adjusted though.
Come at it from right with long 1/4 drive extension, universal, magnetic socket, typical struggle method. Removing inst' panel so to get at it from top down isn't any easier but... if there are any services needed there, 2 birds with 1 stone applies.

Thanks for the advice, i managed to get the old switch off the bracket, is there no way of doing it with the bracket attached?

Some owners do. Some have also used a generic or GM type switch that has more threads and nuts on it. That allows for adjusting its position through the bracket. I can't imagine that being any easier.

I have my brake and.clutch pedals assembly and pedal torque hox out of my car as part of the resto. I am thinking of slotting the switch bracket, and installing a floating nutplate on the torquebox, this way i just need as mall wrench to loosen a bolt, and slide the switch.

I used to just pop the switches out of the brackets to replace, then tweak the brackets with plyers if needed to adjust for lights on or off.
