I am trying to pull the torsion bars out and the drivers side came right out with a couple taps with the mallet but the passenger side will not budge? what can I do to get this thing out???????

Thanks,

Short piece of heavy angle iron and a couple of u-bolts from the hardware store. U-bolts go through holes in the angle iron. Clamp it to the bar and use a hammer on the angle iron to drive it out. Works like a charm.

There is a special tool for that. This has worked for me...
take the nut off the lower arm pivot pin. Knock the arm backward torsion bar and all, then knock the arm forward again. You might need to loosen the strut rod too. I dont know how much you plan on doing. Hope this helps.

What are you using to remove the bar? If you`re trying to remove it with just a vice grip or something similar then the torsion bar removal tool is a huge improvement.

I'll be taking mine out tomorrow. Do I just remove the nut on the lower control arm and the should slide out? There's nothing holding it in on the frame?

Jack up the front end up so there`s no weight on the front tires.
Loosen the height adjustment bolt in the LCA so it`s totally slack.
Remove the retainer clip from the rear torsion bar x-member.
Clamp torsion bar removal tool around torsion bar and drive torsion bar out towards the rear.
Mark torsion bar for sides and for front and rear. Be sure to reinstall the bar in the same orientation that it was removed.

You might have to remove the shock absorber and UCA bumper stop so that you can have full range to move the lower control arm.
