Hi there! I'm a die hard Mopar fan and have had a couple Mopars growing up. Unfortunately, two of them were when I was too young to know what I had. I just picked up a '71 Scamp yesterday that is an original 318 car, 8 3/4 rear w/ 2.76 gear, 904 tranny, a/c. The previous owner put a 4 bbl on it and changed the gear to a 3.55, but other than that it's completely original. Has three rust spots (two where the vinyl top used to be) on an otherwise solid body. It's going to be a street/strip machine when I'm done with it. Picked it up for $2000 and drove it 30 miles home and it honestly rides better than my wife's '05 Ranger!

This is an awesome forum, but you guys have already given me a headache... when I got the car I was convinced I was gonna stuff a big block in it but after reading what you guys have done with small block strokers, now I'm not sure... thanks alot! LOL. I know I will be looking for buckets to change out for the bench front, which if anyone wants to possibly trade the bench that is in it now is in ok shape (ripped where the driver sits but that's it). Talk to y'all soon!

Welcome aboard. And as Tony said, we love pictures. :) The smallblock versus bigblock debate will always exist, with proponents on both sides with very valid arguments. I've owned both, but nowadays I stick with the small blocks in my A bodys.

Welcome aboard! The big block vs. small block debate is a constant rage. Do what you want to do and don't look back.

welcome mark42202!! Sorry for the slow welcome from me.
I am just starting to be able to set down in front of this computer.
pull my back out and it is getting better.
Glad you found this great site. Jump on in and enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm often on here at odd times due to my work schedule, but I am absorbing info at an unbelievable rate! Thanks for having me!

Yes, that's the original two barrel and intake, as well as the original center section with 2.76 gear

Wow That looks to be a great sweet sweet sweet project.
be carfull some one will try and buy it from you.

Sounds like she needs to sell her 05 Ranger !!!!! Welcome from Texas.....

That's a cool little Scamp. I had one just like it a few years ago, but mine was a /6. I traded it to a friend for a Charger (got about 1700 for it basically). He liked it so much he named his new Beagle after it, so now he has a beagle named Scamp. He then sold it to nis nephew for $2400 (so I'd say you got a good deal). Mine was a rust free WA state car that someone drove to IL and then sold to me. The car is now getting ready to have a 318 swapped in and the kid has already put disk brakes under the front.

LMAO! No, I gave her our Freestyle and I took over the Ranger. Gonna trade it in on something bigger to haul my Fury to the track. I drove it there a couple times, but just too much wear and tear on it. 75 miles round trip with drag racing in the middle... I want the thing to last! BTW, ran my best time with it last night: 6.996 @100.46mph in the 1/8 mile.

Welcome aboard fellow Scamp owner!
What are your plans for it?

Thanks. If my 16 yr old son had his way, I would be turning it into a drag car for him... but Momma says one of the toys has to go so it's up for sale.

Welcome! I am a frequent visitor of TN, mainly The Smokies. We usually stay in Townsend.

Thanks for the welcomes! 321scamp... Damn Bro! Your avatar is too distracting for me to type!! LMAO
