hey fellas. i wonder how many of you old geezers can say you've had your hip replaced? well i now fall in that group with yall lol.due to my motorcycle wreck back in '06, i just had a complete total hip replacement . i was wondering if any of yall have.. how long did it take you to fully recover?

A freind of mine did due to complications from Leukemia treatment but it was before I met him and he wasn't at all old at the time, 30ish. I think I'm going to see him next Wednesday, I'll try to remember to ask him. I hope you heal quickly!

My dad had his replaced about 8 years ago when he was 65. He was out of the Rehab hospital in about 5 days. He recovered pretty quickly.

I hope your recovery goes well.

Hey Nasty - Can't help you with the hip replacement, but I had a total left knee replacement on 01/09 and started bowling again the first week of May. Can now walk and bowl without pain and without any knee support of any kind. Should have done it years ago!!!
Oh yeah, I'll be commuting on my motorcycle to work starting next week due to the insane price of gas.
Best of luck on your rehab!!!

it will feel better every day after surgury until one day you'll
forget you even had it done....there will some sensation/discomfort
for a while but you can do motor/trans swaps by yourself after 6 months.
just go thru the therapy and follw directions exactly.

yea ive got a list of several things i can't do like bending certain ways or twisting another. which is understandable. they gave me a grabber which also comes in handy to grab the **** outa the cats head lmao. she doesn't like it to much . but ive just been bored at the house hanging out. geez, you guys should see the needle marks in my arm-you'd swear i was a freakin junkie!. but my biggest concern is dislocating it. then everything would be a waste. the thing that bothers me the most is. the positions my CANOT be in..feels the best on my muscles. like stretching my heel back towards my butt...i can't do pulling my knee to my chest is a no-no.. this is crazy.... and no bruce they bodymen didn't do it !!!!!lol

My father had his done a few years ago. 2 months later he was out moose hunting with me. My doctor tells me I needed to have one 3 years ago. My doctor also says that the longer I can go with the original one the better off I will be. I don't take any pain killers of any sort for it, but I have lived with pain my whole life. I won't have it done until I can't walk.
