This is the first time I am using a Holley Street Avenger.
Can some one tell me what all get hooked up to it?

Just the PCV hose?

What wire do you use to connect the electric choke?

How does the electric choke work? Does it have a temp sensor built in, and it just read the temperature of the outside air?

Thanks much!

yes a PCV hose from a breather cap or PCV valve and of course a fuel line and a vacuum line from ported vaccum to the distributor advance if equipped with one. Ported vaccum would be a port ABOVE the throttle plate, manifold vaccum is below the throttle shaft/butterflys on the carb or straight from the intake manifold, if you used manifold vacuum the advance would be full anytime the engine was running.

The electric choke would need a power wire from the ignition circut that is hot with the ignition key in the run position, it basically uses electricity to heat a coil attached to a rod that goes to the choke and holds it open once its warmed up.

You might want to check local and or state laws regarding the need for the PCV.

u gotta be kiddin........ nothing against u at all 67 fish :) , but........if this country has fallen that low into the gutter .. that trivial..where they are worried about a classic car with a pcv hose..............

.when we have full on gang control of Oakland , a huge Meth problem across the midwest and south, nobody can pay they're mortgage, Everyone i know is battling cancer , we are all DEEP in debt , etc.......

sorry to hit your thread -------- just sick of trivial BS laws and regulations when we have major problems in the country and the FU#$$@N govt wont allow us to enjoy our simple , legendary hobby. :banghead:

Well I guess since I CAN manage to pay my bills and I AM NOT deep in debt I dont belong in here since you included "we" several times then "I" wont be posting in here anymore.

o.K. PCV, Fuel line, vaccum line. that's it?

where do you get the vaccum from tough? I see where to place it on the carb, but were does it come from? I have a RPM Air Gap intake.
and what about that piece mounted on the firewall that says "dist/carb"? I thought that was for the vaccum advance? Is the usless now?

vac advance, if not using vac advance then plug it.

so pcv, fuel line, keyed hot wire to choke and either use the vac advance or don't and just plug it.

Or do like a friend of mine and cut the head off a screw, stick into the hose a ways and hook it up so that it looks like it's working but it isn't.
But thats for a taylor'd distributor senario on a #'s car that ain't so #'s inside the motor.

Myasylum..

I am following this one closely because I too, will be hooking up the same..and like the 'fish, I too want to follow the letter of the law..I have found that your kids emulate your actions..not just your words...

ian :)

Yea, it Wisconsin (for now) they only care about 96+ cars now. (OBDII)
It wasn't always like that though, they just changed it. I guess they only care about the cars that pollute less??? :dontknow:

Not that I'd care anyway... Always been a bit of a Hell raiser! :snakeman:
