Holley pouring out gas

66 ddart /6 with the singl bbl Holley 1920. Started up started to hear strang clicks open hood and gas is pouring out the carb . Gas all over the top of carb and all over the engine . Gas was also inside air filter. Checked everything out a few hous later. No visible problems. Cleaned up the gas. Checked squirter it worked. Started up, took a lot of tries to get it started. No leaks. Any ideas what happened? Also it has been very hot here last few days.
 
Needle stuck or float stuck. Double check your oil. Make sure it's not diluted with gas. Pull the dipstick and see if it registers over full. Smell it and if it smells like gas you need to change it before running it again.
 
Just to clarify, I'm sure you have a 66 Dart and not a ddart.
 
It was my feeble attempt to make the Slant 6 sound as cool as all these Baracuuda or Charger or whatever name they came up with.


So I was trying to start DDart. Like Dodge Dart. or Double D, or something hip.

But I do like the idea of a stutter, Duh - Dart.

or can I do this: 66Dart6. Will that keep people from asking what kind of car I have?
