Holley Street Dominator Intake Manifold ID

Hello,

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me properly identify a used intake manifold that I am interested in purchasing. It is a Holley Street Dominator, and the seller is telling me that it is for a SB Mopar. However, with all of the information accessible on the web, I can find nothing with the model numbers that he is listing (701R-292, 300-29Z). Can someone verify that this is would fit my 360? Also, what years were they made and was there any notable problems with them? Would most tame aftermarket carbs work with this manifold? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 300-29Z is the number your looking for. From what i've seen from a few searches is, it's for a SB Mopar, had the smaller 318 size ports, was more of a mileage manifold (van guys used to use them) and the "Z" means it has a renosance runner between right and left runner banks.

From what i've uncovered the similar 300-7 had a rpm range up to 4,800. But the 300-29Z with the balance tube was rated higher in the rpm range and had charecteristics of both dual and single plane manifolds, at least that was the theory.

I've only seen this type of intake on a small block Chevy before. They were introduced in the 80's the same time Holley came out with there Economaster line of carbs and were supposed to help mileage and power, but in my opinion they did neither very well. Some others may disagree? Today i think it's more of a novelty intake then anything else, i.e. garage art. There are much better intakes available today and with patients can be bought used at reasonable prices. Ex: Eddy Performer & Weiand Action-Plus. Just one man's opinion.....

Some guy has one for sale for $50, so the price sounded right up my alley. Again, not knowing anything until you told me, I didn't have much to work with. Thank you again.

That is good to know. I certainly would not want to be dealing with a problem like that :wack:
