Has anyone used a Holley Transmission Kickdown Bracket on a Holley 750, 4 barrell carb with a TorqueFlite 727? My setup is a Holley 750 and 727 and we are having a problem with the trans shifting down from 3rd to 2nd or 1st when you step on the gas while in 3rd gear.

I'm looking at the Holley Throttle Lever Extension bracket (Holley PN 20-7) and also a Throttle Lever Stud Extension (Holley PN 20-67).

Thoughts??

Thanks for the help.

Lengthen the adjustable KD rod so the back of the slot is closer to the carb/throttle stud.

The current kickdown cable is a Lokar SS braided cable as is the throttle cable.

Don't know if I can lengthen it.

how much free play is in the kickdown cable setup now? Does the throttle reach its stop and the cable still have any extra before it hits its limit? Ideally, both should hit their limit(stop) at the same point.

I ordered the Holley Throttle Lever Extension bracket (Holley PN 20-7) and the Throttle Lever Stud Extension (Holley PN 20-67). They were cheap and my transmission shop said that is what I needed. They should be here today and installed by tomorrow. Then the 'Cuda will be back on the road.

I used the 20-7 on a lot of street cars back in the day, with the stock 4-bbl kick down linkage.
No problems.
It moves the throttle stud into the OEM location.
Your OEM throttle stud will work in that bracket.
