Yes there will be a limit to the tire dia. and likely width also. Lowering the car will likely not be possible. No free lunch on early A's.
There just ain't much room in these cars.

I ran unknown fenderwells on my second '65. Started with F70-14s on stock Rally's at stock ride height with very little contact. Switched to 7" US slots on the front with F70s and got quite a bit of rub.

Now there’s a lesson. Wheel off set! Break out the ruler and a flat iron to start measuring.

Probably going to need to run a 205 60 or 215 60 series, as mentioned back space is key

205/60R14's rub a tad. Now big block fenderwells in a 65 A are a real challenge!

@66340SEDAN knows these problems, he runs hooker super comp on his 340 66 Valiant.

No problems on my car, headers fit awesome, they don’t hang low under the car and have more clearance underneath than most headers. I run skinny tires up front, 5.60-15 and have had 165R15 also, never tried anything wide cause it’s not the look I want on my car....my tires don’t come close to rubbing and I have the stance up higher too....love these Hooker headers

One thing to keep in mind is the Hooker headers come in pieces and slip together during installation...2 pipes go inside the frame rail and 2 go through the wheelwell on passenger side...driver, 3 go outside the frame through the wheel well and 1 inside, they don’t take up a lot of space like other full fenderwall headers do...I’m betting the Hookers probably have more tire clearance.

we did 2, one had the 4 sp/hack job big block fenderwells pictured and mine had the AT/pro-parts semi fenderwells that were modded to fit the narrow A. same B motor, much cleaner.
