The horns on my 67 barracuda don’t work that well depending on how or where you squeeze the horn ring. Sometimes they sound, sometimes they don’t or cut out.
The horns themselves work perfect, and the horn relay is brand new. The issue seems to be in the “squish” switch under the horn ring . The ground wire is good that connects to the round switch.
I’m assuming the top and bottom ring of the horn switch ground when you push down on the horn ring and the top and bottom switch ring make contact.
I’ve got the circular switch from under the horn ring removed from the column and on the bench.
How can I go about cleaning and testing this switch so that it works like it should meaning it works every time you push the horn ring, no matter where you push on it?
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated to get the horns working properly again.

I've used a bead blaster to clean them, but, I would imagine an overnight soak in vinegar would take off any corrosion too. Just use some baking soda with a toothbrush right after the vinegar bath to clean the surface and neutralize the vinegar. Then rinse in fresh water and dry. I'd then coat the metal with di-electric grease or at least some lithium grease to prevent future corrosion and help lube everything.
