Hot ballast resistor and smokin. no start at all when turning key

You can use a test light and connect to ground at the start relay and stick the probe into the small yellow wire at the relay and hit the key, light should glow...........

I'll do that and see if it does, let you know

You got that right!
I was goin by this diagram

Im an electrical IDIOT, so I'll let more knowledgable chime in. I think that is a WRONG diagram.
It is. It has to do with the yellow wire if I remember. I THINK the diagram is good IF you're wiring something from scratch, just not for something already existing. I THINK. But don't take that to the bank. I'm an electrical idiot, too.

What about this one? I don't this this is good either. Not color coded and doesn't show both Ign. 1 and Ign. 2. I'm still looking. Thought I had a good one.

The first diagram may have a problem back feeding, should be a single brown wire from the ignition switch to the ballast. Which would be on the coil side of the ballast, 12 volts only while the car is in the start position only.

This is a dual ballast diagram. The only difference is the 5th pin is a ground which a 4 pin doesn't use. so just wire the 4 pin to single ballast and eliminate where I drew the arrow. I think this is correct. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure sorry. Ive said forever whether it's **** stained sellers , or BAD/WRONG info, there should be a forum dedicated to that.
Sorry, not much help, looks like the guys are on it and will get you steered in right direction.
Well, as much as we've all suggested things in the past that have fallen on deaf ears, good luck with THAT!

Value [ the number of ohms ] of the bal res depends on the coil being used. You need to find out [a] if the Accel coil needs a bal res & if so what value is it.

Make sure its in neutral or park and the netural switch is ok if auto its the middle wire then if all checks. take a screwdriver and touch the two wires together on the starter and see if it turns over. Important first block the wheels and make sure its not in gear so you dont get run over if it turns over

No power on the starter relay when touching it with a screw driver.it won't turn over
