i used a similar setup on my blowthrough carb. take drilling the housing like that and couple it with a small bracket to hold the spring against the power valve to keep it closed all the time unless pressure opens it (exhaust back pressure between the head and turbo in my case) and you are good to go. works like a charm. drill the power valve channel restrictors a little to make up for the difference on the top end and its all gravy.
