How far have you driven just to pick up an engine.

I'm getting ready to make a 500 mile round trip, to pick up a 273 block from another FABO member who has been kind enough to wait on me to come get it.

I'll be driving my truck with an empty trailer from the San Francisco Bay area to Clovis New Mexico to pick up a 10,000 lb Cletrac Dozer...
1,300 miles one way...

Five hour round trip to pick up a rebuildable 360 back in the mid eighties.

Made the same trip a few years later to buy my Sport Satellite.

A few years ago I traveled 2-1/2 hour to pick up a 340, then 4 on the way back . Had a bad ice/snow storm pop up on my way there, then had to go back after getting it. Man that was a scary ride that day.
Anyone need a 340? I have no use for it now.
