I have a 1969 dart with a 273 engine
It has a 4 barrel carb mechanical secondaries.
The secondaries don't seem to open.
Was the original manifold a 2 barrel?
With a edelbrock air gap for a 318-340 fit?
I will eventually replace the engine with a 340 and want to be able to reuse the manifold if possible.
Thanks!

What carb? Carter or Holley. Why won't it open? Have you taken this apart?
Have you had it off the intake?

Probably, but I'm not a 100% sure that is the only way they came. It could have been a factory 4bbl.

Yes

Your good to go

No problem, you'll be back with some answers right....... We have questions for you :-D

I pulled the carb off and the gasket was stopping the 4 barrels from opening...
Now much better, but bogs a bit..
I will replace the carb with one with vac. secondaries..
Thanks!

The 273 was replaced in 1968 with the 318 and/or the 340. I must presume that your engine is not original. 273's did come with both 2BBL's and 4BBL's from the factory but not after 1967. I have a 67 Barracuda with the original 2BBL 273.
