Guys: How long can the original coil in your car last? My 1974 Duster has an correct part number coil date coded 353 that came off a low mile and very original salvage car (see photo). Works perfectly. How long can these things last? Thanks.

Possibly the life of the car. My 66 had the original coil on it when I bought it.

Forever...

I think there are a lot of coils in trash bins that were perfectly usable....

Probably the life of the car, did you have a COMA inducing thread on cleaning up the junkyard coil you got.

The detail on the slanty is really nice, but you know that duster is really screaming for a proper V8.

4 years ago I took the origional coil off my 273 67 dart due to a misfire issue (wasn't the coil), it does have a slight oil leak in the right position

But in answer to your question, till you let the smoke out

FOR-EV-ER, FOR-EV-ER. But recently I purchased a new reproduction, date coded coil. As soon as it warmed up on the dyno- it exploded.

I've had 38 cars and only had one go bad.
