Guys,

I don't have an 8-3/4" yet or I could answer this myself, so here goes...

I picked up some 15x7 steelies today with 4.5" backspacing. My intent is to use them to mount 255/60-15s on the rear of my '76 Duster.

Question: How close to the springs will I be with this much backspacing?

All rear suspension will be of stock dimensions and location.

Thanks again guys.

I have 275-60-15 mt drag radials on 15x8.5 centerlines with 4 1/2 BS. My springs are moved in 1 inch with the offset spring hanger pkg. I have about 5/8" to the springs. Dont know if this helps ya, but its all I got. good luck.

You should be fine. I am running 275/60/15 on 15x8 wheels with 4 1/2" backspace. 73 Duster, Stock 8 3/4 and I still have 1/2"-3/4" tire/spring clearance. So you'll have plenty of clearance.

4.5 back space should be fine...

here jamies dart with a 5.72 backspace rim on it...
