Don't matter
Ok when u 1st got ur car what did you give for it . I have bout 1200 in my 65 cuda . Tell the story how u got it if u don't want to tell how much u paid. Pics are always good lol

$2000.00 in 1999 Drove it home and the gas tank fell out of it when I pulled it into my driveway. Car sat for 3-5 years

2300 roughly 1996- --bought it because it was a rag top--- my friend also has a 68 gts clone ragtop-- was fun-- now it sits in project land. Lawrence

$12,500. How it looked and how it looks now. Wheels, tires, 3M vinyl stripes and a change from SS to XHD springs sure gave it a different look.

my '72 340 Duster (not an h-code car) with (low-mileage) built 340, built 727, 4.10 SG 8 3/4. perfect interior, perfect paint(other than pass. fender which had been replaced and slightly [and still] bent front bumper), perfect vinyl roof, scoop, go-wing and not a spot of rust: $3200. (this was in the late-'80s approximately)

my (completely stock)Scamp: $1000 (1995-ish)

Paid $400 for it,sold a bunch of extra parts for about $600.Lot of ebay, selling and buying. Parts cars. Found a 68 340 in a 73 Duster. X heads, stock bore. Paid $1000, parted the car and got $1700 and a free 340. Have about $14000 in it, not counting the wheelin dealin..Much less in real dollars.

...700 smackaroonies......and I had a hard time paying that off LOL!
Any way this guy at work said he had this 67 B-cuda and it was a formula S and all but it was a bit roughand had been sitting. He wantesd 1200 but I was like not too intrested cause its a "real deal" you know how that goes. So fonally he comes over and says "$700 and just come and get it cause I dont want it out in the yard anymore, I am a chevy guy anyway so I am not interested in t anymore." So I trudge over to his place and bring my Ford buddy woth me. We're looking it over, the rear is gone, the rear window is missing, it has no drivetrain whatsoever, sitting on wood blocks and its all in boxes that are stashed in his storage trailer. To my surprise my bud says "you gotta get t his thing" I kinda say "alright" not even sure of myself if you know what I mean. I had found out that it was NOT a formula "S" (mostly from the FABO info) So that weekend we go over with a tailer and a rear end and some straps and some jacks and drag i t to the shop. One of the front brakes is stuck but we manage.
IT'S A GOOD THING THAT WE DID GET IT THAT WEEKEND!!
The next week the Elkhorn river floods and the place that it was sitting is under water. All of the dudes other chevy projects are either destroyed or damaged. All the stuff in the storage trailer is ruined. ( his house was built up a bit so it escaped with inly minor damage.

In '04 I paid 4K for my '64. I thought it was a good deal as the p.o. had rebuilt an Formula 's 273 and swapped in for the original 2 bbl 273, which I have. He also re-did most of the interior. I've since gave it a repaint, new tires, and a complete brake system rebuild.
The '65 Formula S was a bit more, 14K for that. This will also need a repaint, as there is mostly original paint on the car, and has the original interior. I did have to replace the exhaust as somewhere in time it had been replaced with a 2" system instead of the 2 1/2" it should have, and I have also replaced the tires on this car. The Blue is the '64, White '65.

Bought my 68 Cuda in the summer of 70 or 71 (poor memory) .Saw it sitting on the back row of a ford dealer. At the time I was driving a 69 Hemi roadrunner that was getting way too radical for everyday driving. Pulled in and found out it was a salesmans car and had like 80,000 miles on it (again poor memory of exact miles) with a burnt valve. They didn't want to fix it and I didn't want to pay very much- match made in heaven!
It was a 318- 2bbl auto on the coloum and a worn out drivers seat (fat assed salesman obviously) Worked a deal of $800 and drive it away. Actually it ran pretty well for a burnt valve. Took it out to show my mother ..... and never got to drive it again for 10 years as she fell in love with it -so I gave it to her right then and there. Never got it back until after she passed away. Been in my yard ever since

:) :) :)

I paid $2000 for the car I thought I was going to build...

1970_dodge_dart.jpg

And $500 for the car I ended up building...

DSC_0977.jpg

The first car needed both quarters and four floor pans. I found the second car shortly after I started pulling apart the first. The second car needed one floor pan and that was it.

I actually needed both cars as the second car had no trim or windows included and the first car had everything I needed to put the second back together.

My Duster did not look like it does today. When I bought it, it was sitting and was a one owner little old lady grocery getter. I have invested several thousand (Lost count) dollars into the restoration and continue to pour $$$ into it as we speak. Sorry I do not have any old pics to post all photos were lost in a house fire in 2008.

3500. Had cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Wanted car that was complete, original, rust and dent free.
Got it all except front frame rails were welded on so that was not original and few very minor blemishes.

in 2009 I searched for a couple months looking for a mopar project.....finally found one less than a mile from where i lived in a kids back yard....walked up and said "Hey you want to sell that thing" he said "SURE".

first he wanted to keep the rear end and a bunch of other crap and sell me the car for $300.00

I said...NO I want the car just got it is what will you take? "he said $800.00.

I tried to get him to take $500.00 cash but he would not budge.

so it came time to do the deal and he says "well.......I don't have the title.....I have to get ahold of my dad and have him get ahold of the guy who owned it before me, but if you give me $500.00 you can take the car now and give me the other $300.00 when I get the title".

I said ok....sure lets do it. I had him write me up a bill of sale and off I went.

a few days go by and I don't hear from him.....after a week I call and he says " I am still trying to get my dad to get haold of the guy",after 2 weeks I call and his mom keeps answering and saying he is not home, after 3 weeks my calls are going to the answering machine......after 1 month I am getting "number disconnected".

SO I decided if he wasnt going to be of any help I needed to get something figured out.....so I called around and it seemed as though there was nothing I could do to straighten things out.

finally I got in contact with the local sheriff who just so happened to be a mopar fan and he told me of a "hush hush" form that I would need to get and fill out (basically an application for title.....not a duplicate or abandoned or anything like that......but a fresh title issued in my name.).

so I went to the local secretary of state office told them I need this certain form and the lady looked at me strange like "how do you know about that" lol.....I filled out the paper work, they ran the vin, and 15 minutes later and $15.00 later The duster was finally legally mine for a grand total of $515.00!.

since then I have done a TON to my duster.....still got some work ahead of me but it has for sure came a long way.
