Hey Guys, I picked up another 73 Duster 340 and trying to figure out how rare it is. Its painted JF1 Mist Green. I've done some searching myself... The Color is hard to find information on.. Its a 1 year only color and 1 source says 250 were built in that color. Which equals out to like 1.7% as Mopar likes to use the % format.......And then researching the V21 option only turned up quotes of it being rare for the year also. Any additional information that other members can provide would be much appreciated.

Here's a Run down of the Fender Tag:

I also found the Build Sheet for the car...Its alittle rough, I'm in the process of recording the codes over onto a user-created blank for my personal records/showing.

Thanks
Daniel

That's about all you will find in color and option from Chrysler. They didn't keep good records and what records they had got destroyed in a fire. The color I think was a standard color, and not a option the v6x was optional.

JF1 is pale green in Dodge lingo.

Did you get this car from FL?

I was talking to a guy selling one that almost matches that description.

I've seen a few that color. Google- 73 duster F1, and a few come up.

No, got it locally(GA) from a older guy that bought it new in Michigan. It had been parked out behind his house for 20 years and I happened to ask at the right time when his old lady wanted it gone to extend the garden...deal was if I could get it running, I could have it....15 minutes with a battery and a can of gas had it up on the trailer. 68,000 original miles.

I didn't think color breakdowns were available for 1973. I've seen them listed for 70 and 71 but nothing newer then that. Even then, it was just a % of total cars built...not an actual number.

I think I've seen 1 Duster, 2 Dart Sports and 1 or 2 Cudas that color...that's it. I like the color when it's fresh. Good luck with it.

I think I am right when I say hat F1mist green was a 1973 only color. Seems I remember seeing it somewhere and it was a pretty reputable source. I cannot remember where for the life of me. I love that color though.

I'll snap some pictures of it tonight. The Original owner had it shot a dark green shortly after buying it new..I was alittle confused over his logic in that...But the dark green paint is flaking off showing the JF1 paint. I've starting pulling the interior out and you can see the JF1 paint clearly on the package tray, etc.

This is Code JF1 'Mist Green', in complete form.

A very rare exterior color, primarily found in the Plymouth 'North-Central' Region Zone.
{Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa}

Why 'primarily' in that Region, I have no idea.

The original owner of mine bought it in Michigan while he was stationed there.

Most of the Duster 340's in this 'Mist Green' color came thru
with 'Bench Seats'.

It must have been a 'North-Central' thing, for 'cold-winters' and
'summer nights' at the Drive-In.

yep yep...got the bench seat pulled out and stored inside the house...it looks great.i love the marble look the seats have....what else you know about these cars with this color?

I'll have to dig a bit.

It is a 'nice color', but was not a 'popular color' or much ordered option.

Most of the 1973 340 Dusters with this color were 'Dealer Stocking Cars',
targeted for the 'Sporty Female'.

Sorry about that.........

Awesome Cuda, This definitely adds more reasons to me for restoring it.

Mines a 3-speed manual, doesn't have AC, I know its a Sure-grip...not sure about the gears yet.....Have both the Transverse stripe and the hood treatment.

Very very interesting stuff you've added to the knowledgebase on these JF1 Dusters.

Thanks

Dad had a Satellite in that color new. I think it was around a 73

I tend to like it being you dont see it much.
