How to hook up my TACH?

I have a 73 Dart Sport. The previous owner put a Duster dash in it. The new dash has a tach with 2 posts on the back of it. Does one wire go to + side of the coil, the other to the - side?
 
As far as my '68 wiring schematic is concerned, it indicates that the tach would be on the console, in which case the gray wire with tracer goes to the negative side of the coil and the dark bluse with tracer wire goes to the fuse block. I don't know how much this will help you, though.
 
One side goes to + Switched Battery Power and the other goes to the negative side of the coil.

Can you post a picture??
 
I hooked up the long post (on the back of tach) to switched power and the short post to the - side of coil. No luck. I have a MSD ignition, is that an issue? I will post a pick tomorrow. Thnx.

READ the destructions for your MSD ignition.
