How to Match Speedo to Gears

Guys, it seems to me that I changed a gear at the transmission speedo inlet a long time ago (too long......) in order to match my speedometer to the 4.56's in my Charger....................

A while back, I was told that the only way to match my speedo was at the rear of the speedo itself, by changing out THAT gear.........

How say you's guys ? Is there a gear available to change out at the transmission, or isn't there? All my memory circuits say "yes"......(did I dream it?)

I'd really like to match up my speedo to the actual MPH..........:burnout:

year one has a chart .. goes by gear and tire size

Input your tire size and gaer ratio into this program and it will list your required speedo gear teeth.

Yes you can change the gear in the tailshaft of the transmission right where the speedo cable screws on. I've had a few speedometers apart and there was no way to change a gear on them that I saw so I'd say the fellow that told you that is delirious.
