Hey everyone, so a few weeks ago I saw a post on Facebook in some Mopar group about this new book that got released which I'm sure you've all been waiting for (I know I was)... Yesterday I went to my local B&N and picked up a copy, it's fantastic! I have an 18-spline box my cousin gave me which I tore down and then just put in a box and let sit because I didn't feel like teaching myself how to rebuild. Now it'll just be "follow the instructions", this book is chock-full of pictures and even has an entire chapter devoted to identification, with a full walk-through of teardown, inspection, and reassembly with tons of little tips and pointers. A few surprises too regarding replacement parts I had no idea about.

Perfect timing for me. I ordered one yesterday from Amazon. Thanks for the heads up.

I just got mine through ebay $22 same as the amazon price.

I was hoping it would help me with my shifting problems, but there is not a lot in there about debugging issues or how to adjust your shifter. but I am not done reading yet.

if you have Hurst shifter, and a-body 833, I've found you can't follow the SM. You know the hole in the shift levers on the shifter? I think you're supposed to shove a 1/4" drill rod in the holes to adjust/ line up the rods properly. But I always found it didn't work, unless you left the reverse rod out of the equation. Don't know if that is your situation, but if it is, just try it, maybe it'll help you.

Well off the top of my head there is a thrust washer that goes between the countershaft and case, the normal replacements you get now are too thick and the wrong material (steel), the correct ones are special made by Passon himself (and I would imagine some other A-833 specialists like Brewer's).
