How to remove rust under hood bracing ??????

What would be a method to remove the rust between the underhood bracing and outer sheetmetal ?

Send the hood off to get it dipped.

You could buy a product called RustMort. It is a phosphoric acid solution that converts red oxide rust to a stable black oxide layer. You could rinse it off with a hose. Little cheaper than dipping it if money is an issue.

Electrolysis or soak in vinegar or evaporust. Build a plywood and 2x4 box and line it with plastic. You don't have to do the whole thing at once but would be best because the cleaned part starts rusting immediately. Remember... rust never sleeps. It may not look rusty but under a microscope you can see it. That is why paint manufactures only give you 8 hours to coat properly prepared steel.
