how to remove torque converter?

i pulled the bottom plate off, and i notice theres a plate that looks to be bolted to the flex plate... do i remove those bolts? or are there bolts that hold the converter to the flex plate like a typical chevy? sorry for my newb-ness im a chevy, and mostly volkswagen guy.

There is a flex plate that uses four bolts to attach to the torque converter The ring gear is part of the torque converter, so that may be why it looks different to you.

theres 4 bolts that hold the converter to the flexplate..
