How to tell if you are overcarbing an engine?

I actually read that a while ago.
I like the article the one thing i missed last read that i caught this time was them mentioning that the exhaust going in at 90 may be related to the cam and im hoping since mine is stock it wont effect me too much till i am ready to upgrade.
Of course i dont understand all of it anyway but it makes me feel good to dream.
In 4 years or so when i save up my money im hoping to dump 8-10k into the car again (wife willing).
Thats when ill be deciding on a SC or stroker etc.
I will probably get a different intake before then though but my wife may be changing jobs soon which will mean i need my daily driver back and so im on a budget and time crunch.
