Sorry for a misleading title....this isn't that kind of a thread. :)

I have a 9 month old daughter that I would like to take to the track, however, well-meaning grandparents are concerned about the noise damaging her little ears. Can anyone recommend earplugs? My husband and I want her to get used to racing and cars, so that she won't want a Honda when she starts driving.

As for progress on the Scamp, I am waiting on the title. I want to get it in hand before I put too much money in it. I have picked up a few odds and ends on eBay, the most exciting being a grille. It was cheap and it looks a lot better than mine. The first big $$ will be pulling the slant 6 and putting a 360 in.

Buy the sound deadeners for her. They look like full ear head phones. Make sure you get the ones that offer the most protection.

Thanks! Any idea where I can find these? NHRA Hot Rod Reunion is this weekend, we'd like to take her out there.

The head phone types are great, They also have soft plugs that go into the ear canal, that you roll between your fingers, put them in and they expand.
Take the kids. Mine were all around 5 or 6 months old when we went. The noise never phased any of them. Maybe that's because mom was sitting in the stands while she was pregnant. My son actually would sleep thru some of the races, and these were open header cars. :thumblef:

Go to a good hardware store or contractor supply house. A lot cheaper than NHRA, or the track. Regular earplugs as Mopar71 said would be good as long as there are no Top fuel Funny cars or Dragsters. Also available at hardware or home depot.

Go to Wally World and ask for shooters muffs at the sporting goods counter. They even have them sized for kids.

Just don't take her to a big boy meet. Those dragsters are murder and I'm a grown man. LOL Or is that Groan. I gotta tell ya there loud!
