Howards Hyd roller cams

Just fishing for any information or experience with these cams?

The web site is appalling - no valve spring or lifter recommendations....but the cam made good power with some ported J heads on my Dyno Sim....

235/241 @ .50 .530 lift.

If this is a roller block, just use the stock replecements and make sure the oil hole points towards the valley...

Never heard of Howards.

I would recommend using a Hughes cam. We just bought one for our 91 360 with hydeaulic rollers. I hear Hughes run great. My brother in law put one in my brother's old AAR Cuda and was very impressed with the power. Hughes will also give you a valve spring recommendation.

Not sure on their cam profiles, but is that not a little too mild for your 392? The cubes will eat up that duration.

Howard cam has been around since the early 50s and make a very good product. They build real nice .904 cams, (which doesnt matter here) but would expect there hyd roller cams to be just as good.

Anyways the spring # is 98432 and i would go next size cam bigger

They are similar. You can only go so fast using a hydraulic type lifter of any kind.

@ Moturbopar - Thanks - Seems they are billet cores so I'll probably look at an off the shelf Comp or Crane..Something inside me won't let me pay over $200 for an Oil drive gear for a street car.....:shock:

I should also say that the D2000 sim I posted is seriously optomistic...

I downloaded D2003 yesterday and the outputs are much more conservative - I'll run apost of several sims on a seprate thread when I've input all my head flow and cam spec data,
