What do you guys think of this universal howell efi kit?

http://howellefi.com/tbi-kit-universal-v-8.html

It appears to be a nice cleaned up version of the junkyard efi kits that people toss together. That ecm is tunable and those remanufactured TBIs flow better than the POS's that came from the factory.

It's a good tbi system that is suitable for stock or nearly stock engines. It is tunable to a point but still uses chips that need to be burned (flashed) to make changes. You could build your system out of jy parts, but then you don't have the support of an expert at the end of the phone line if something goes unplanned. (I'm actually in process on two systems for my own parts chaser and a Jeep, mostly jy parts).

Well the expert thing is not really an issue. From what i read on an offroad forum, Howell has remarkable customer service.

The JY parts is tempting, but i feel like that could be a bigger headache. Plus i like the easy/clean wiring harness of the kits.

I'm somewhat familiar with howell systems, my Dad's jeep has one on his YJ and it works flawlessly. That jeep(258 6cyl) has never ran so good in its life.

I'll vouch for the ease of installation on a Wrangler with an AMC 304 swap a friend of mine put together a few years back. Wide replacement parts availability and factory reliability. Last time I spoke with him, he said it still cranks right up, and runs great...it's been installed for at least 7 years.
