Hughes Engines fabricated magnum SB valve cover?

Has anyone used these valve covers? What I want to know is do you have to modify the valve cover or intake for clearance when using an edelbrock air gap intake. I know you do when using the air gap fuel injected intake? But what about the carburetor intake?

These are the $430 ones. They are ugly as hell and anyone that buys ugly valve covers for $430 deserves to be kicked in the balls and tossed in the river. This makes your questions, moot.

The $210 and $180 ones are the same valve covers you can get off e-bay for $67.50.

So are you talking about the $430 ones, the $210 ones with a $142 paint job and the word "HUGHES" on them or $180 ones with the $112.50 paint job?

I have these from mancinis, they are sweet, bolts are crap though, long arp 12 point look great if using those for rest of your bolts. My intake is an Indy, similar style of an Airgap. The moroso valve cover gaskets are pricey but don't leak a drop. :thumblef:

I have a pair on my 99 ram and didn't have to do any miss to get em to fit, they already have the two spits clearances for the intake runners

I got my fabbed covers ($89.00) off Ebay.
If you need to clear the intake runners, use the thick Fel Pro gasket.
I think they are 5/16 & will raise the valve cover enough, so that it will clear the intake.

This is an older thread, im going to hijack it, are the stock OEM magnum valve covers useable when using the carbureted intake? I figure a set should be had at a junk yard for like 40.00$

Yes.I used the stock Magnum v/c's,with the Crosswind intake. No mods necessary.

The stock ones hit on my M1 single plane, but double gasket them and they will fit.
