Seen something today that just made me :scratch: .....Heading to town, cruising along with a car in front of me in my lane. Speed limit is 50 mph, approaching the are where the reduced to 35mph sign is posted. I hold down the decel button on the cruise control. Guy in front on me is slowing down as well. We had both slowed down to about 35 mph. Just up the road, on the opposite side of the road facing our direction is a State Patrol officer with a radar gun. We are about 100 yards or so from him. Guy in front of me put his foot in it and goes hauling *** past the cop.....had to be going every bit of 55-60 mph. Needless to say the cop hit the lights and went after the guy :dontknow:
 
It was his wife, he has not been home much & she missed him.
 
Someone radioed in the pass word .... BEER!
 
We are becoming a nation of morons.36th in the world academically. As a truck driver I see crap from both cars and big trucks that make me sick to think they are American
 
I see stupid crap like this all the time. On the way to work I get behind people who will do 30 in a 40. But when the speed limit drops to 20 for a bad corner and a school zone. They go through at 30-35. Another reason for self driving cars.
 
Ink, I had a similar experience on I-75 here in Georgia. My family and I were heading south to Florida. I was in the Left lane, and cruising at about 80 mph, and passed a Ga. State Patrol car sitting in the median. After passing him I moved into the center lane. I was now in front of a Honda Accord. Not all riced out, it was new, at the time, and looked pretty stock.

I can see the cop pull out onto the interstate in the left lane, and is quickly catching up to me, and now he's the only car in the left lane. he get's to a point where he's 3 or 4 car lengths behind me (I'm still in the center lane, he's in the left), and all of the sudden the Honda pull out into the left lane in front of him, and takes off! (???)

Naturally, like a dog fetching a stick, the cop went after the Honda. A few minutes later we passed them both, on the side of the road. It was two young girls in the car, and the cop was was standing next to the car.

No clue as to what was going through the driver's mind, but I thank goodness for her being there.

This happens damn near every time we go to town. Speed limit on 291 is 50. I normally go about 3 over, according to the gps....except thru Reardan where the "Marshall" will stop you for 31 in a 30. Anyhow, there is 2 sections on 291 that are 35 between here and town. Folks on right on my bumper in the slow zones...which just forces me to slow to about 27 or so...Ernie always chuckles because I will be looking in the rearview mirror while I ma slowing down....Get to the area where it is 50 and this clowns will only go 43 or so. I normally have very little patience while driving. One thing that really burns my a** is when the road is clear, there are no curves and people vary there speed from 39 to 65 in a 60 zone. Just set the damn cruise at 60 or so and drive damn it. One thing when it is an old car, but when it is a newer vehicle that has cruise just use it....

Maybe that was the guy whose wife left him for a State Trooper, and he was afraid the Trooper was going to try to give her back.
 
Ye.......'n if you or I do that we get a great big ticket for tailgating or aggressive driving
