Hurst Shifter in a 65 Valiant

Hello, I am trying to install the Hurts Promatice 2 shifter and keep my original center consul. I've seen this done before on some threads but was wondering how others were doing it. There's a bracket that use to hold the original shifter in place so are others just cutting this out?

This is my 65 Valiant. I cut up the front bracket and some of the back. It fits under the stock console nicely. I popped a couple of threaded rivots into the tunnel, anchored the bracket at two points with those rivots and then built another little bracket in the front. It's been a while since I did this so I'm a little foggy on all the details but it's been solid.

Mines about the same. I think I just bolted it to the floor using the flat bracket.
