HV oil pumpin a BB

Like a small block do you need to use a hardened disi drive in a BB or some other part

Ok thanks just one other thing, what is it like to replace the oil pump while motor is in situ

Easy since it sits on the drivers side of the block. No pan to drop....

I would suggest pulling the dist/intergear (first line up a tooth dead even with the magnet for easy reassembly) then replace the pump & just barely snug the bolts then install the intergear/dist then final tighten/torque the pump bolts for a dead on pump hex/intergear hex alignment. before bolting on the pump turn its' hex to the same clocking as the hex is at on the old pump
