Hi,

I'm starting to set up my hydraulic clutch and have run out of ideas on where to attach the master cylinder.

I have measured the travel of the linkage???, it is 0.9 inches (2,3 cm).

The problem is that if I push the linkage inside the cylinder I have noticed that is has to go in straight (there can't be a big angel).

Here is the picture of my pedals:

I have already removed the spring (I think there is no need for that) and that silver thing also (don't know why this is needed).

I asked advice from Brewers Performance (where I ordered the kit) and the send me some pictures of a E body setup (It was installed under the dashboard).
I would like to install mine to the engine bay.

I have googeld for different results, but the topics usually lac of pictures.

I think that the best place to connect the linkage and pedals are shown in this picture whit the red dot:

But does that mean I have to cut the peace marked with the green line?

I would really appreciate your help and some pictures.

Hi,

I did the work on this weekend with a help from my friend.
It was pretty easy and I'll upload some pictures of my progress (sorry Englis isn't my native language so I might not know all the words for used tools/hardware.

The car is a Plymouth Valiant 69 with power breaks.

So first I made a mock up to get the basic setup and mesures. Then tried to find the sweet spot, trilled a hole in the pedal (1,6 inches from the pedal pivot point), cut off the return spring bracket and welded a 1.6 inch long thing (I don't know what to call it, you see it on the 2nd picture) where I trilled the hole (it has bolt thread inside it).

Next we moved to the car. First we installed the pedalst and tried to fit the bracket we made for the extre strenght to the correct position (this ment we had to cut off a littl peace of the bracket that holds the handbreak). Also we had to cut a peace from the bracket we made, to make it fit correct.
Then we marked up the place to make a hole, removed the pedals, cut the hole, adjusted it a bit to make the master cylinder fit and installed all the necessary parts (pedals, break master cylinder ect).

Here you can see, that I added the nut to the end of the bolt (right side)

All in all two of the most difficult things are making the bracket for the clutch master push rod and finding the correct place to make the hole in the firewall.

I hope I can help some one with the same problem and make there job easyer.
If there is something that I did wrong and this will cause some problems in the futur, let me know.

It looks like you don't have that big power break master cylinder.

Hi,

I'll continue my threat.
Finally I started installing the slave cylinder and have some questions about that.

I sent a e-mail to them but haven't receved any answere.

I'll copy my message here and maybe you can help me:

I read the instruction and came up with 2 different versions.

First one:

I installed the bracket to the fist and the second hole on the trans.
After I installed the slave cylinder I noticed that it doesn't fit that well. Is seems that it's on a bad angle.
Here are the pictures:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19022509/2014-08-02 17.34.59.jpg (here you can see, that it will rub on the clutch fork center hole)

Second one:

I installed the brakcet to the second and third hole on the trans.
After I installed the slave cylinder I noticed that it fits a lot better but the spacers don't fit that well (one needs to be a bit longer).
Here are the pictures:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19022509/2014-08-02 17.54.19.jpg (here you can see, that the spacer is to short)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19022509/2014-08-02 17.55.08.jpg (here you van see, that it fit's better and doesn't rub that mutch)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19022509/2014-08-02 17.55.15.jpg (here you can see that I used the 2 and 3 hole on the trans)

Also, in the manual it said that I need to connect the slave to the clutch fork using spacers and a rubber/steel bushing (there wasn't in the kit and there wasn't on on the clutch fork before also).

In this picture you can see what I mean under the 1,2 and 3 hole. Also you can see that the 1. hole is a bit higher than the 2 and 3 hole. I think that this is the reason, the first setup is a bit bad and will rub.

So if anyone has some pictures of their setup, pleas post some pic's.

Kristjan.
