just bought a 67 dart gt with a stock engine the guy told me.It has a 440 not running when I bought it.He said it was a drag car when he bought but he never raced it.I have it running now so I pulled a valve cover to ID the heads and see it has adjustable rockers and I assume it has a solid lift cam.I got the numbers off the head but cant find a matching number from mopar. Here are the numbers 240651 and 12155 with this stamp DP
CD
can anyone help me...........

Just a note. There really was no such thing as a factory 440 head as far as the casting numbers were. They were all B and RB heads.

DPCD is a standard casting mark on all sorts of chrysler parts. It stands for Dodge Plymouth Chrysler Desoto and was used from the 50s or even earlier well into the 80s.

2406516 I have a couple sets myself, closed chamber small valves

Also known as door stops or anchors, basically worthless.

I wouldnt say worthless..... they are easy for a machine shop to put tbe bigger valves in, flow literally the same as 906s and respond well to basic porting. With the bigger valves they are pretty much the same as the one year only closed chamber big valve 67 440 heads. I have run a couple sets this way in the past and currently have them on the 440 in my 55. They are a great budget head and with the closed chamber make more compression than the factory open chamber heads.
